BATAM — After a two-year facelift, Travelodge Batam opened to a grand fanfare of a “live” lion dance performance heralding prosperity, fireworks illuminating the night sky, as well as a gala dinner for hundreds of friends, trade partners and media in attendance to celebrate the occasion last Friday, Jan 10 2020.
Travelodge – an international 4-stars chain hotel with a footprint of nearly 1,000 properties globally – took over what was previously Novotel Batam, and after extensive renovation work, Travelodge Batam now offers travellers an elevated stay in its newly designed 254 rooms and lobby area, in addition to a fitness centre, indoor pool, lounge and spa.
Families travelling with kids will particularly enjoy the spacious rooms fitted with super king-size beds and adjoining rooms, while business travellers may consider hosting events at the Cendana ballroom – capable of accommodating up to 800 guests theatre style – or seven meeting spaces for cosier groups. Strong Wi-Fi throughout the property, thoughtful USB ports by the bedside, and an overhaul of air-conditioning and ventilation systems work together to bring guests a revitalised experience.
Its prime address is another huge selling point – just five minutes away from Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal, and proximity to the prime Nagoya district, which houses multiple malls like BCS Mall, Nagoya City Mall, and Grand Batam Mall.
The hotelier also used the red carpet event to appreciate industry partners, giving out awards to top producers in the corporate, airlines and travel agent sector.
“We would like to say a big thank you, especially to our opening GM Mr Lau Hui Teck for his exemplary contributions, not to mention project planners, contractors, airlines, travel companies and all business partners that supported and believed in us to make today a reality. Your contribution to Travelodge Batam will be appreciated and we promise to forge a strong partnership for a long time to come,” said East Leng, general manager, Travelodge Batam.
