Shangri-La Group has announced the debut of JEN by Shangri-La in Hangzhou, bringing 176 keys to east China’s Gongshu district.
Located on the former site of the historic Hangzhou Oxygen Plant, the new hotel preserve’s the site’s industrial character via its brick walls, peppered with artworks reflecting the city’s urban culture and the legacy of the UNESCO marked Grand Canal.
Sitting within Hangzhou Kerry Plaza which offers a mix of retail, office and residential units, all suites include private outdoor terraces, while deluxe rooms and categories above feature double bathtubs.
OpenHouse spotlights local flavours and regional ingredients, such as modern nods to Jiangnan classics, alongside a diverse menu covering Western and Southeast Asian dishes. The restaurant also doubles as a cafe, offering quick breakfasts, light bites and coffee throughout the day.
JEN Active features a 24-hour fitness centre, indoor heated pool, a sauna, and a spa.
Travellers on business can pick from some 330sqm of event space, including a 240sqm ballroom. An outdoor lawn on level seven can also be booked for casual events.
The hotel is directly connected to Hangyang station on metro line 5 and adjacent to the Wulin Star Expo Center, also offering easy access to landmarks including the Grand Canal, Qiaoxi Historic District and West Lake.
