IHG Hotels & Resorts has reached a global milestone, with more than one million open rooms across its portfolio of over 6,700 hotels in more than 100 countries.
The achievement comes after a decade in which IHG doubled its brand portfolio to 20 and opened hundreds of hotels annually. The company also credits the growth to its IHG One Rewards loyalty programme and its technology platforms.
“Reaching one million rooms reflects the deep trust and confidence our guests, owners and investors place in IHG and our brands,” said Elie Maalouf, CEO of IHG Hotels & Resorts. “But more than that, it’s a celebration of our colleagues, who help millions of guests live their best lives every single day – be it with a warm welcome the minute they walk through our doors or helping make memories in life’s big events.”
In the first half of 2025, IHG opened a record number of rooms. Key recent openings include:
Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo, Japan – marking the brand’s return to Kyoto after 50 years, with 183 rooms, a public bath, gym, café and bar.
InterContinental Brisbane, Australia – 305 rooms and suites in a Harry Seidler–designed building, with a rooftop infinity pool and Club InterContinental.
voco Bandung Setiabudi, Indonesia – 162 rooms with meeting spaces, pool, fitness facilities and a kids’ club.
InterContinental Halong Bay Resort, Vietnam – the area’s first international luxury resort, featuring 174 rooms, residences, villas and a private beach.
IHG’s development pipeline includes over 2,200 hotels, with plans to expand in high-growth markets globally.
