Popular films have made the hotels featured in them iconic, but have those magical movie moments made these hotels more expensive to stay in?
Mark Johnson, from hotel booking website H18YC gives the rundown on how much it would cost to stay for a night in hotels made famous by movies.
“If a hotel was featured in your favourite movie, there’s no better way to heighten the experience than to stay overnight and live it for yourself,” says Johnson.
Home Alone: The Plaza Hotel, New York City
This is featured in movies like Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The Plaza is an iconic hotel located near Central Park. The Family Grand Luxe features two queen beds, and costs around US$1,495.
Ocean’s Eleven: The Bellagio, Las Vegas
Known for its stunning fountains, the Bellagio was showcased in the heist film Ocean's Eleven. Book the Premier Spa with two queen beds for around US$399 per night.
Pretty Woman: Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills
This hotel was prominently featured in Pretty Woman. It served as the primary setting for the romantic story between the main characters. The Signature Two Double Room for two adults costs around US$1,100.
Some Like It Hot: Hotel del Coronado, San Diego
Appearing in the classic film Some Like It Hot, this historic hotel is known for its picturesque setting and Victorian architecture. Secure the King Bed with Sofa bed Suite and View for around US$1,275.
Lost In Translation: Park Hyatt, Tokyo

Featured in the comedy film The Hangover, this hotel and casino is known for its opulent Roman-themed architecture and has become a popular destination for fans of the movie. The Augustus Premium Suite starts at US$2,099 per night.
While prices vary throughout the year, by number of occupants and by room type, the prices will give movie fans an indication of what they can expect to pay for a night in the hotel from their favourite film. The fees displayed mainly refer to bookings in early January 2024.
