Ascott launches first Citadines in South Korea

The flagship art fair of Southeast Asia, Art Stage Singapore kicks off the region’s annual visual arts calendar and into its fifth year, it leads the Singapore Art Week, showcasing the best of Asian contemporary art. 

Singapore is renowned for staging pillar events that showcase the city, just recently it hosted the F1 Grand Prix, then the WTA championships and next year Art Stage Singapore will take place from January 22-15  (Vernissage on 21 January 21) at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

These events have attracted their fair share of luxury travellers, with five-star hotels seeing high occupancies and Singapore’s high-end F&B outlets enjoying good patronage.

Singapore’s vibrant shopping and dining scene is drawing the regional well-heeled crowd, even American celebrity Gwynth Palthrow said she “shopped” in Singapore when she was in Singapore recently to shoot an advertisement. 

Lorenzo Rudolf, founder and Fair Director of Art Stage Singapore said, “The clientele of Art Stage Singapore comes from every social standing – very wealthy art collectors to gallery owners to artists. These creative individuals all travel with a luxurious lifestyle and want to stay in 5-star hotels.”

Art events are seen as luxury events because they attract high networth individuals and are perceived as luxury brands. “The art market, especially in the top level, is functioning like every other luxury market. That means an art event is also a luxury event but it’s egalitarian; it’s an event that’s open for everybody,” added Rudolf.
