Alila group says goodbye to Bali property

On its website, Alila said the property would no longer be managed by Alila Hotels and Resorts, “however, we have been working with the new management team to ensure a smooth transition”.

Alila Villas Soori has been re-named "Soori Bali" after reverting to owner management on November 1.

Owned and designed by Singapore architect Soo K. Chan and his wife, Ling Fu, the Alila Villas Soori was operated by the Alila Group for six years. It is located on Bali’s south-west coast 

Chan is believed to be planning a new luxury brand of hotels under the Soori name. 

Quoted by the Jakarta Globe, Soo said: “I’ve designed hotels and resorts around the globe and yet with Soori Bali, I’ve made all of the decisions and the result is the most honest of my creations. 

“For me, Soori Bali is as much a state of mind as it is a world-class resort. It’s a peaceful, private and re-energizing place.”

Soori’s Bali’s 48 villas are be given a major makeover before a relaunch of the property early in 2017.
