SINGAPORE - Mercure Shanghai Zhongya officially opened in
China Tuesday. The hotel is the latest addition to Accor
China's fast growing hotel network which now consists of 97
hotels. "The opening of this latest property extends our
Shanghai network to 13 hotels. We are thrilled to be
welcoming both international visitors and local guests to
Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya, as China's leading business
city similarly welcomes the world to the Expo," said Robert
Murray, SVP Accor Greater China. "We believe the hotel will
not only benefit from the current "Expo effect", but also
from the drastic improvement of the city's infrastructure,
as well as the continuous fast development of its economy
over time." Ideally located at the South Square of Shanghai
Railway Station, one of the busiest travel hubs of the
city, the hotel is just a three-minute walk to metro
stations of Line 1, Line 3 and Line 4, and offers easy
access to the central business district and popular tourism
attractions such as the Bund, Nanjing Road, Xintiandi and
People's Square. Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya has 288
guestrooms, a wide range of F&B options, an in-house
spa, a business centre, and meeting and banquet facilities.
