Northstar acquired two publications, SportsTravel and Association News, and two conference events, the TEAMS Conference + Expo and Meetings Quest Conferences.

Northstar Travel Group, the parent of Travel Weekly Asia, has expanded its meetings portfolio with the acquisition of publications and events from Schneider Publishing.

Northstar acquired two publications, SportsTravel and Association News, and two conference events, the TEAMS Conference + Expo and Meetings Quest Conferences.

The acquisition is “another important step in the transformation of Northstar into a marketing solutions company serving all key segments of the travel and meetings industries,” according to Tom Kemp, chairman and CEO of Northstar Travel Group.

As part of the agreement, Northstar has also bought the rights to the Shamrock Shootout Golf Classic, the longest-running golf tournament in the hospitality industry, which has been recently named the exclusive golf tournament of the IMEX America trade show, which will be held Oct 10-12, 2017 in Last Vegas.

Timothy Schneider, president and CEO of Schneider Publishing, will join Northstar Travel Group as founder and chairman of the company’s new Sports Division, which will be part of Northstar’s Meetings Group, comprising publications Meetings & Conventions, Successful Meetings, Meeting News and Incentive, as well as its integrated event platforms.
