Insight Vacations had a fruitful weekend at Edible Garden City with its
‘Grow Your Own Food’ movement last Saturday. With an increasing dependence on
imported food in Singapore, Insight Vacations staff and its sister brand
colleagues are championing this cause with sowing seeds for a baby salad project
alongside making seed bombs.

“We have chosen Edible Garden City for this CSR project as it is in line
with our global CSR movement where we support the Whitmuir Society in Scotland
to develop 140 acres of organic farm as a living, learning space for the
purpose of engaging visitors to learn about sustainable food and farming,” said
Sheryl Lim, regional director for Insight Vacations (Asia).
“With our massive concrete jungle in Singapore, this is our opportunity
to learn from urban farmers on how to grow food in a city environment and use
that to our utmost benefit on a long term basis.”
Edible
Garden City champions growing food at under used spaces such as rooftops and
sidewalks, and have a belief to connecting city folks back to nature by
encouraging food growing activities.
The
team at Edible Garden City advocate sustainable natural growing methods,
resource recycling and waste minimisation.
