For seasoned travellers, the most optimum time would be two hours prior; for those who travel 2-4 times a year, the airport recommends coming three hours early; and for family holidaymakers, arriving four hours ahead of the scheduled time of departure (STD) is best.

Changi Airport has compiled a series of tips to help travellers start their vacation on the right foot – this begins with planning your pre-flight itinerary by understanding your “ideal check-in time”.

For seasoned travellers, the most optimum time would be two hours prior; for those who travel 2-4 times a year, the airport recommends coming three hours early; and for family holidaymakers, arriving four hours ahead of the scheduled time of departure (STD) is best.

This allows travellers to take advantage of the airport’s facilities, services and hidden spots.

For instance, business travellers can collect their online buys from the iShopChangi collection centre at the terminal before flying; travellers with kids in tow can enjoy a free movie at the movie theatre at Terminal 3; while those who wish to start their merrymaking early can enjoy a complimentary Singapore Sling at the Raffles Long Bar at the T3 DFS Duplex.

This move comes on the back of the airport’s recent announcement about the introduction of early check-in options for passengers with a range of airlines.

Since the start of the year, common check-in counters have been set up at Terminals 2 and 3, and an early check-in lounge at Terminal 1 to faciliate early check-in.
