It was a mixed bag of performance for Singapore aviation in recent rankings.

Singapore's Changi Airport, which has consistently clinched the top spot in Skytrax World Airport Awards for the past eight years, fell to third place this year.

In pole position for the world's best airport is Qatar's Hamad International Airport in Doha, followed by Tokyo Haneda Airport in the second spot.

According to Skytrax, the World Airport Awards are voted for by customers in a global airport satisfaction survey conducted from August 2020 until July 2021.

Skytrax's 2021 ranking of the world's top 10 airports are as follows:

  1. Hamad International Airport
  2. Tokyo Haneda Airport
  3. Singapore Changi Airport
  4. Incheon International Airport
  5. Narita International Airport
  6. Munich Airport
  7. Zurich Airport
  8. London Heathrow Airport
  9. Kansai International Airport
  10. Hong Kong International Airport

Changi Airport Singapore still took home the world’s best airport title in the 10 to 15 million passenger category, as well as the top awards for the world’s best airport staff.

Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines and Scoot have been awarded the highest 5-Star rating in the Skytrax Covid-19 airline safety audit. Scoot is also the first low-cost carrier in the world to get this 5-Star rating from Skytrax.

Singapore Airlines also pulled in third in a recent airline ranking by AirlineRatings.com, while taking the top two spots are Qatar Airways and Air New Zealand.

These are AirlineRatings' top 10 airlines for 2021:
