Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is quitting the Star Alliance and will officially become a part of SkyTeam alliance on 1 September, giving SAS customers connectivity across SkyTeam’s network of 1,060-plus destinations.

SAS has been part of Star Alliance since it was established in May 1997.

Patrick Roux, SkyTeam CEO, said, “SAS is a great fit for SkyTeam, and we look forward to being part of their future journey.

“This collaboration will bolster SkyTeam's global network, offering new destinations, enhanced connectivity, and a more seamless, elevated customer journey for all travellers.”

Sky Team members include Korean Air, Garuda Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines and China Airlines.

SkyTeam members serving SAS’ hubs include Air France, KLM, and Delta Air Lines.
