One hundred and fourteen passengers were left stranded on the Vietnam’s Con Dao Islands on Saturday after their plane, operated by Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), experienced technical difficulties.

The glitches delayed several flights scheduled to fly on the same day from Ho Chi Minh, the Con Dao Islands and Can Tho, reported Tuoi Tre News.

While details of the technical problems were not revealed, the operator said it has worked with relevant authorities to put affected passengers up in sufficient hotel rooms as they waited for the next flight out, despite the weekend crunch for accommodation.

Compensation would also be paid out to affected passengers, added VASCO which manages eight ATR-72 planes on short domestic trips.
