MELBOURNE - Citilink Indonesia will begin daily flights between Melbourne (Avalon) – Melbourne’s second busiest airport - and Denpasar Bali from Jan. 24.

An Airbus A320NEO, carrying 178 passengers will depart Avalon Melbourne daily at 12:50pm local time, with the return flight landing at Avalon Melbourne at 8:50am local time.

Citilink Indonesia chief executive Juliandra said Bali's popularity amongst Australians meant the airline was "optimistic" about reaching its seat load factor  target of 70% on the new route.

"Citilink has become the first airline serving a Denpasar and Avalon Airport route and we hope this will provide more options for people," the CEO said.

Avalon Airport is located 15 kilometres north-east of the city of Geelong and 50 kilometres south-west of the Melbourne CBD.
