The daily services to the Indonesia city from Kuala Lumpur are part of the airline’s plan to expand internationally. It now flies to 39 destinations in 13 countries.

Malaysia’s hybrid carrier Malindo Air expanded its international network with the addition of Medan, Indonesia as its latest destination on August 29.

The daily services to the Indonesia city from Kuala Lumpur are part of the airline’s plan to expand internationally. It now flies to 39 destinations in 13 countries.

"We strongly believe that this new service that we are providing will have much to offer to stimulate business and trade growth between Malaysia and Indonesia. Medan is a very popular holiday destination with the famous Lake Toba being an attraction to most Malaysian travellers,” said Chandran Rama Muthy, Malindo Air’s CEO.

“Certainly, tourism traffic between both countries is expected to grow with the commencement of Malindo Air's new services.”

To celebrate the launch of the new route, the airline is offering promotional fares from RM9 (US$2.20) for economy class and RM557 for Business Class one-way, all inclusive. The fares include free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and light refreshments.
