The new seats will be available, starting this month, from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland, Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Delhi and Jeddah.
Malaysia Airlines Bhd’s (MAB) flight MH141 from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney, Australia, on March 23 features its new business class cabin seats.
The Airbus A330-300 aircraft deployed for the flight is the first to feature the brand new seats, which is part of MAB’s cabin refurbishment plans for its fleet of A330-300 aircraft.
Paul Simmons, MAB chief commercial officer, said the airline’s 15 A330 aircraft would be refurbished with the new business class seats by September this year.
The new seats will be available, starting this month, from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland, Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Delhi and Jeddah.
MAB described the 27 fully reclined lie flat seats as “innovative” as they provide “superb space, privacy and flexibility for guests to work, play and sleep.”
The seat’s 43-inch seat provides ample space for guests to work throughout the journey. Each comes equipped with power outlet and USB port, large single leaf meal tray table to hold a notebook or tablet, and reading light.
The 20.6-inch wide seat also turns into a fully flat 76-inch bed. If sleep is not forthcoming, then the Panasonic 16-inch touch screen in-flight entertainment system with movies, music and games is the antidote.
Simmons said more improvements of the airline’s products, especially for business class, are on the drawing board.
