VistaJet is seeing a 71% surge in bookings from passengers who have not regularly used business aviation solutions before.

With 79% of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) more inclined to travel by private jet than ever before in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, VistaJet is rolling out a series of experiences to target the uber-wealthy market.

As the number of touchpoints significantly decreases when flying private – 20 interactions as opposed to 700 when flying commercial – the global aviation company expects to see an increased number of first-time private flyers looking for safer and more reliable alternatives.

The greater demand from first-time private flyers is already reflected in VistaJet's new incoming requests: as of June 2020, 71% are from passengers who have not regularly used business aviation solutions before.

In response, the private jet charter company has launched a portfolio of private and safe journeys, VistaJet World Safe Havens, in partnership with seasoned travel players including Abercrombie & Kent, Velaa Private Island, Blue Marble Private, Roar Africa, Entourage Travel, Dean Stott and The Eden Club, to facilitate "safe point-to-point journeys from flight to destination for members".

Currently, members can choose from seven experiences, all of which will prioritise privacy, health and minimised social contact, said VistaJet in a press statement.

For instance, the 14-day trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands with Abercrombie & Kent includes a stay at the new Cotopaxi Sanctuary Lodge that lets them get up close and personal with the Park's abundant wildlife, a hike in the Andes with world record breaking mountain athlete Karl Egloff, a privately chartered seven-night private yacht cruise in the Galapagos Islands, and a private audience with a leading scientist from the Galapagos Science Center, San Cristobal Island.

At the Velaa Private Island, Maldives, members choose from the 47 private villas – 18 suspended over water – that come with their own personal butler and private pools for the ultimate luxury (and socially distanced) holiday. Private island buyouts can also be arranged. Guests can also contribute to the largest coral reef restoration projects in the Maldives while they are there, and enjoy deserted island picnics and wine tastings.

Other tailored experiences include a stay in a private western town in the mountains of Colorado with Blue Marble Private; a trip to South Africa and Antarctica with Roar Africa that includes a stay on a 100,000-hectare remote private property within a safari; an island outpost in Jamaica with Entourage Travel with sightings of the Fleming Villa at GoldenEye and private snorkelling and boat trips; vineyard cycles and tours with presenter of The Wine Show Joe Fattorini coupled with farm-to-table fare by renowned chef Victor Guérin; and a stay at the Pittormie Castle Scotland with The Eden Club with over 30 golf courses nearby and exclusive membership to events such as The Masters and Tiger Jam.

VistaJet is expected to expand The Safe Havens collection to more destinations across the globe during the summer and autumn months.
