Location and History

This hotel, its restaurant and pub all have a long, illustrious history dating back to 1870. Most famously, the property is the birthplace of Heineken beer. Its history as a brewery actually goes all the way back to 1586.

This hotel is positioned in the heart of central Amsterdam, beside upscale Magna Plaza just behind Dam Square, the palace and 15th-century New Church. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the train station and many central city attractions.
