Barely two weeks after the announcement that Lady Gaga will be making Singapore her only Asian stop on her highly anticipated world tour, bookings for the Lion City are soaring. Fans from across Asia and beyond are already securing their spots for the pop sensation's concerts, set to take place from 18 to 24 May 2025 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Trip .com reported a staggering 202% increase in hotel bookings for that week compared to the same period last year. Top international bookings for this event are coming in from China, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea.
Interestingly, budget-conscious travellers are driving a significant portion of the demand, with 38% of searches focused on 3-star and below hotels, compared to just 18% for the following week.
This trend may follow the behaviour observed during last year’s Taylor Swift concert in Singapore, where many budget travellers still visited the city despite not securing tickets. These travellers were seen gathering outside the concert venue with fellow non-ticket holders, content to enjoy the music from a distance and share in the excitement of the event.
The first day of presales on 18 March for Lady Gaga's upcoming Asia-exclusive Mayhem shows in Singapore saw queue numbers exceeding 2 million, with ticket prices ranging from S$148 - S$368 (US$111 - US$275). VIP packages are priced higher, between S$648 - S$1,348 (US$484 - US$1007). Scalpers have already taken to reselling tickets on platforms like Carousell, with one VIP package listed for an eyewatering S$30,000 (US$22,407).
