Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has inked a three-year collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia to bring a series of Disney-themed activities to Singapore.

The announcement was made during the annual Tourism Industry Conference held April 13 (Thursday) at Suntec City Convention Hall.

According to Lionel Yeo, chief executive of STB, “the multi-year activations will profile our attractions and precincts in Singapore, beginning with Gardens by the Bay for the Star Wars festival held in May.”

The three-day extravaganza will feature highlights such as SaberTrees, Southeast Asia’s largest lightsaber light-up, photo opportunities with Chewbaca and Kylo Ren, as well as a Star Wars Run that will include a 4.5km fun run and 10km competitive race.

The collaboration will also provide opportunities for local event organisers and SMEs to grow their businesses and enhance their capabilities in world class branded entertainment events, added Yeo.

Tourists and locals alike can look forward to more Star Wars-themed events this year, followed by Marvel and Disney Pixar-related activities in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
