The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has rolled out a series of
familiarisation trips for regional travel associations, leaving no stone
unturned to expand Macao's international visitor market and revive the
tourism industry.
Leveraging
Macau's connectivity with Hong Kong as a transportation hub to tap into
the international visitor market and diversify source markets, the
MGTO coordinated two familiarisation visits by the Hong Kong Japanese
Tour Operators Association and the Society of the Golden Keys of Hong
Kong.
The
delegations, comprising around 70 members, visited various tourist
attractions, hotels, and tourism facilities in Macao to better plan and
arrange trips for their customers. The itinerary for the delegations was
carefully planned and showcased the glamour of "tourism +."
Delegates visited various tourist attractions, such as the historic
centre of Macao, the Macao Grand Prix Museum, Super Fun Zone and Legend
Heroes Park at Studio City, themed hotels, and adventure facilities at
Lisboeta Macau – GoAirborne and ZipCity.
MGTO also organised a luncheon and networking dinner for the
representatives, during which they learnt more about Macao's tourism
industry and networked with local tourism professionals.
The Hong Kong Japanese Tour Operators Association primarily caters to
Japanese visitors by organising their travel logistics, including
transportation, lodging, dining, and sightseeing in mainland Chinese
cities, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The Society of the Golden Keys of Hong Kong, on the other hand,
comprises concierge professionals serving travellers at luxury and
business hotels in Hong Kong.
With Macao lifting travel restrictions, MGTO is taking an
multi-pronged online-offline marketing campaign to promote tourism in
different source markets. The office is also launching various special
offers targeting specific market segments to attract visitors to Macau.
