To capture the burgeoning Muslim travel market, Bintan Resorts has also collaborated with Crescent Rating and HalalTrip to launch a series of initiatives, such as a guide and dedicated microsite to highlight Muslim-friendly resorts, attractions and restaurants, allowing visitors to make informed decisions.

A series of new plans and developments is starting to take shape in Bintan Island, thanks to a forecasted rise in visitor arrivals.

One of the highlights is Doulos Phos, The Hotel, a 102-year-old vessel-turned-hotel that first set sail in 1914 and retired as the "World's Oldest Active Ocean Going Passenger Ship" in the Guinness World Records. Permanently docked right beside the ferry terminal, this ship hotel will have facilities both on land and onboard and which includes a maritime museum.

Integrated beach resort destination Bintan Resorts, the area on the northern coast of the Island master-planned and managed by PT Bintan Resorts Cakrawala, will be the site for many of these new developments, including the 1,300-hectare Lagoi Bay, which aims to be the new ‘Heart of Bintan’ with its concentration of holiday resorts and villas, outdoor activities, shopping and F&B outlets.

At the waterfront resort city, Treasure Bay Bintan’s first resort, The Canopi, will offer guests with the chance to experience glamping in its 100 luxurious safari tents that are fully air-conditioned and come with Wi-Fi. Next to the resort is Southeast Asia’s first and largest man-made seawater lagoon, Crystal Lagoon, which filters seawater to crystal-clear state, offering a safe environment for recreational water activities.

All establishments have been rated based on CrescentRating's rating system for Muslim friendliness.
