With the second wave of bookings now underway, Disney Adventure is building even more excitement ahead of its December maiden voyage.

Travel Weekly Asia spoke with Sarah Fox, vice president and regional general manager for Southeast Asia, about what the cruise line hopes to achieve in this region among its trade partners and experiences for consumers.

What are your top goals for the Asia market in 2025?

As we approach our maiden voyage in December, our goal is to establish the Disney Adventure as the premier cruise experience in Asia. This will be the first Disney ship to homeport in the region, uniquely blending our signature cruise offerings with elements specifically tailored for guests from Asia. From culturally resonant stories and characters to diverse dining and entertainment options, every aspect is meticulously crafted to deliver unparalleled value and a memorable vacation for guests of all ages, creating an ideal setting for celebrations or simply a spectacular escape at sea.

What’s on your travel agent wish list to help grow Disney Cruise Line in the Asia market?

Disney Cruise Line is committed to cultivating strong relationships with travel agents, regional trade associations, tourism boards, airline partners, and hospitality providers to enhance the overall cruise experience. With significant interest in the Disney Adventure from both consumers and the travel industry across Asia, we are keen to broaden our network with a diverse range of providers, including OTAs and traditional agencies. Our approach emphasizes leveraging well-established, accessible touchpoints to meet and anticipate the preferences and expectations of our guests.

How do you plan to engage and excite travel agents in Asia?

Disney Cruise Line will continue to engage travel agents in Asia, with dedicated sales teams in markets like India and Indonesia to enhance trade promotions. We provide comprehensive sales materials and marketing support, along with a centralised platform offering key resources such as marketing assets and training materials. Additionally, our Asia Pacific contact center provides localised support in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, and Hindi, to assist trade partners effectively within their local time zones.
