Viking has added new dates for its 2027 to 2029 India river voyages, including sailings onboard the upcoming Viking Ganges designed specifically for the Brahmaputra River.
Upon her debut in 2028, the new ship will join her sister – the Viking Brahmaputra, slated to begin operations in late 2027. This also doubles Viking’s capacity in India.
The Viking Brahmaputra and Viking Ganges can each host 80 guests within 40 staterooms, decked in Scandinavian design and inclusive of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors with a veranda.
Both ships will sail a river route between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in the northeastern state of Assam as part of Viking’s new 15-day itinerary, Wonders of India.
The roundtrip journey from Delhi covers an eight-day Brahmaputra River voyage, and a guided land programme featuring 13 tours.
On land, guests will explore some 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, alongside India’s famous sites from the Golden Triangle and Taj Mahal, to Old Delhi’s winding streets and Jaipur’s ornate Palace of Winds.
Back on board, the ships will sail past Guwahati’s temples, the one-horned rhinos and buffalo of Kaziranga National Park, and Majuli, one of the world’s largest river islands.
Pre- and post-land extensions are available. Guests can book two nights in Delhi, or opt for guided trips in Dubai (three nights), Kathmandu (four nights), and Cochin and Mumbai (five nights).
