In the dynamic world of travel and hospitality, achieving milestones
within the span of just one year is no small feat. Resorts World
Cruises, a rising star in the cruise industry, celebrated its first
anniversary in June with much fanfare.
A year of unprecedented milestones
Resorts World Cruises' first year is a journey marked by a series of
monumental achievements, said Michael Goh, president of Resorts World
Cruises. The cruise line celebrated its first birthday in June with
special promotional fares and onboard celebration activities. The
celebration was not only an occasion to thank their patrons but also a
reflection on the strides the cruise line has taken.
Among the notable accomplishments, Goh highlighted that “these
include launching the brand and the Genting Dream deployment to
operating dual homeports in Southeast Asia at an unprecedented
timeline.”

The Resorts World One was introduced to Resorts World Cruises fleet in March 2023.
He further takes pride in the expansion of the fleet, stating, “Also, within the year, we further expanded our fleet of ‘Resorts Cruising at Sea’, adding Resorts World One to be deployed in Hong Kong.”
The numbers also speak volumes, with Resorts World Cruises welcoming over 1.3 million guests since its inception.
As president of Resorts World Cruises, Goh's proudest accomplishment
goes beyond business. Launching a new brand and expanding to two ships
within a year reflects the dedicated team's unwavering commitment.
Elevating onboard experiences
One of the cornerstones of Resorts World Cruises' success lies in its
dedication to providing exceptional onboard experiences through
thematic cruises.
Goh shared, "Thematic cruises are something many of our guests look
forward to as it enhances their experiences, which is further
complemented by our onboard offerings, facilities, cuisine, Asian
hospitality, and popular destinations." These distinctive themes have
become a significant draw for travellers seeking more than just a
voyage.

Distinctive thematic cruises have become an attractive draw for travellers, said Resorts World Cruises president Michael Goh.
The Sugar Pop thematic cruise, inspired by the popular Pop It craze,
garnered immense attention and positive feedback. The partnership with
LEGO for a summer-themed cruise on Resorts World One showcased the
cruise line's dedication to unique collaborations and innovative
offerings.
Looking ahead, guests can anticipate an array of exciting and exclusive thematic cruises, including a Halloween-themed Vessel of the Hexed cruise, Tea at Sea, Musicon, and a Bollywood Music Festival on the Genting Dream.
Empowering travel agents in Asia
Resorts World Cruises’ travel partners were the secret ingredients in
the cruise line’s rapid success. Goh places strong emphasis in
“maintaining a close rapport with travel partners via regular training
and updates to promote cruising efficiently, as well as to penetrate and
cater to growing segments.”

Resorts World Cruises has expanded travel partner opportunities by strategically becoming a Muslim-friendly cruise line with Halal cuisine, attracting new customers and enabling agents to reach an underserved market.
One of the ways that Resorts World Cruises has created new
opportunities for its travel partners is its strategic focus on being a
Muslim-friendly cruise line offering Halal cuisine. This inclusive
offering has not only attracted new customers from the expansive Muslim
market segment but also empowered travel agents to tap into a previously
underserved market.
The rise of MICE at sea presents another promising avenue for travel
agents, according to Goh. “Cruise ships provide an all-in-one solution
for event organisers, merging travel, accommodations, and activities
seamlessly.”
Selling cruises, Goh shared, goes beyond advertising and promotion;
it's about creating opportunities that resonate with customers and
delivering unparalleled experiences.

With a pulse on the evolving Asian market, Goh exuded optimism about
the future of the cruising industry. The resilience displayed in
emerging from the global pandemic sets the stage for robust growth in
the coming years. Notably, a younger demographic, including families,
couples, and friends, is embracing cruising, with a surge in young
repeat cruisers. The rise of fly-cruises also holds immense promise and
is a key focus for Resorts World Cruises.
