Cordelia Cruises, an India-based cruise line launched in 2021 and operated by Waterways Leisure Tourism, has announced a significant expansion with the addition of two new vessels, Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun, to its fleet.

These vessels, part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s original Sun-class series, will join the brand’s growing lineup with Norwegian Sky set to sail in 2027 and Norwegian Sun in 2026. This move follows the successful launch of the company’s flagship ship, Cordelia Empress, which has welcomed over 600,000 guests since 2021.

Both ships are currently undergoing refurbishments. Once operational, Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun will offer a variety of staterooms, from solo rooms to suites, as well as a wide range of amenities including speciality dining venues, entertainment, wellness centres, and family-friendly areas.

Cordelia Cruises is set to announce deployment timelines and destinations for the two new ships, with plans to serve a mix of domestic and international routes.

The acquisition of Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun, each measuring 260 metres and capable of carrying around 2,000 guests, will more than double Cordelia’s passenger capacity and enable the cruise line to reach more ports across India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Jurgen Bailom, president and CEO of Cordelia Cruises, expressed excitement about the new acquisitions, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome these iconic vessels to the Cordelia fleet, building on the overwhelming success of Empress. With the addition of Sky and Sun, we are entering a new era of cruise holidays for Indian guests – one that is bigger, bolder, and more immersive than ever before.”
