Oceania Cruises has appointed Frank Del Rio Jr. as chief sales and marketing officer. He is the son of Frank Del Rio, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), who co-founded Oceania Cruises in 2002.

Under his new appointment, Del Rio Jr. will take charge of Oceania Cruises’ sales and marketing activities worldwide, steering the direction for teams in Miami, Southampton, England, Sydney and Sao Paulo.

Like his father, Del Rio Jr. found a calling in the cruise industry. From 2003 to 2017, he worked for Oceania, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and NCLH. In his time there, Del Rio Jr. had climbed the ranks to NCLH senior vice president, leading port and destination services, and onboard revenue.

He then left to pursue a career in other sectors. For the past several years, he explored the private equity, finance and technology industries across a broad range of products.

Now he has returned to his roots and raring to go. According to a statement, Del Rio Jr., said: "I'm thrilled to be returning to a brand that I am so truly passionate about and is embedded in my DNA."

“His passion, enthusiasm, and day-one familiarity with the Oceania brand, our guests and our travel partners will take us from strength to strength,” Howard Sherman, CEO of Oceania Cruises said.
