Holland America Line is giving nature lovers the opportunity to name an orphaned moose calf rescued in collaboration with the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC).

Name suggestions can be submitted in the comments section of a designated post on the cruise line's official Facebook and Instagram pages by 23 June 2024. Holland America Line and AWCC will then select the top 10 name suggestions.

"Holland America Line has been exploring Alaska longer than any other cruise line and we are deeply committed to supporting AWCC in its conservation efforts to protect Alaska's wildlife," said Kacy Cole, chief marketing officer for Holland America Line.

The top 10 names will be posted on the cruise line's social media pages for a public vote to determine the winning name, which will be announced in early July.

"We are grateful to partners like Holland America Line that help AWCC continue the work we do to protect and preserve Alaska's wildlife," stated Sarah "Howie" Howard, executive director of Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.

This initiative is part of a broader partnership, with Holland America offering guests up-close moose encounters at the AWCC facility this summer where they can hand-feed the animals.
