StarDream Cruises has announced the return of its Durian Party cruises aboard Genting Dream, offering four special 2-night sailings from Singapore to Melaka between 24 August and 14 September 2025.
The cruises, departing on 24 and 31 August, and 7 and 14 September, feature a durian-themed experience both onboard and onshore, including an optional “Eat-All-You-Can Premium Durian Buffet” in Melaka.
The S$45 (US$35) onshore package includes a 1.5-hour buffet of top Malaysian durian varieties such as Musang King, Black Thorn, Tan Sri XO, and Red Prawn. Round-trip coach transfers from the ICQS terminal to the buffet site are included.
Guests can also explore Jonker Street after the buffet, and enjoy durian-themed activities onboard, including quizzes, games and hands-on workshops.
Edison Ang, Malaysian durian influencer and content creator, will make special appearances at the Melaka buffet on selected dates.
“Join Edison for a fun and flavourful journey as he shares insider knowledge, fascinating stories and little-known facts about the beloved King of Fruits,” the cruise line stated.
Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises, said: “We’re delighted to bring back the Durian Party – a uniquely Southeast Asian celebration – in a bigger and more exciting way.”
In addition to the durian festivities, Genting Dream offers international cuisine, certified Halal and vegetarian dining options, stage shows, outdoor movie screenings, and family-friendly activities such as waterslides and rope courses.
