Thomas Cook India and its group company, SOTC Travel, have launched women-only tours to India and Dubai, following a poll which showed that local ladies are displaying a strong appetite for holidays.
Some 65% of India's women respondents are keen to travel in the next six months; with 72% displaying confidence in air travel. According to the poll, holiday wish lists are no longer restricted to safe destinations and shopping, but of indulging in "the unique and offbeat travel experiences — across outdoor or adventure, wildlife and ecotourism, local experiences, culture-cuisine-art, health-wellness etcetera," said Rajeev Kale, president & country head — holidays, MICE, visa, Thomas Cook (India).
This holds true for the corporate circle with India's working class ladies driving the bleisure market, while on the leisure front, demand is also coming from the solo woman traveller, millennials, groups of girls on vacation, bachelorette tours, kitty party getaways, etc.
"The new-age Indian woman traveller is eager to explore the world based on to her unique preferences or interests. Besides sightseeing, she is keen to explore a multitude of activities that help her gain unique experiences and even new skills," added Daniel D’souza, president & country head, Leisure, SOTC Travel.
With this month marking International Women’s Day on 8 March and Women’s Month, Thomas Cook India is offering women-centric tours to Dubai, with rates starting at Rs49,325 (US$673) for fixed departures on 5 and 6 March 2021. Domestic packages are also available to destinations such as Goa, Kerala, Jaipur and Udaipur with fixed departures on 7 and 8 March 2021.
Unique experiences carved for the ladies include vintage car drives around Udaipur’s picturesque lake, spa and wellness day in Thekkady, backwater cruises and martial arts in Kerala, casino and pub hopping in Goa, a jeep safari amidst the lush plantations in Munnar, unique stays in forts, havelis or palaces, adrenalin infused experiences such as dune-bashing or sand surfing, and shopping experiences at Dubai's fascinating souks.
With safety a top priority among female travellers, the packages also feature Thomas Cook India's Assured-Insured-Secured policy that includes 24-7 access to a doctor; Covid-negative certification services; and a helpline service offering expert guidance and assistance for safe trip planning, visa assistance, country-specific updates, and on-ground health and safety measures.
