27 November 2003SYDNEY - Raffles International will reflag its Merchant
Court hotel as Swissotel Sydney on December 3.
A major upgrade of the hotel's lobby, lounge, bar,
meeting rooms and executive club lounge, as well as the
executive suites, is underway in anticipation of the
re-branding.
The Sydney hotel sits above the historic Grace Brothers'
CBD department store, occupying levels 8-25.
"This is an exciting time as we prepare to launch a new
brand to the Australian market and reposition the Merchant
Court as a Swissotel to tap into the strong brand
recognition and cross-selling efforts of our sister
properties across Asia, Europe, and America," said Gilbert
Madhavan, general manager Swissotel Sydney and area manager
for Swissotel Asia/Pacific.
