MANILA - Dusit Hotel Nikko will be rebranded as Dusit Thani Manila come April 1, 2008, said PR manager Cora Ortega-Auste. The 32 year-old-property sported the trademark Manila Garden Hotel from 1976 until 1996 when Japanese management came in and renamed it Hotel Nikko Manila Garden after which it became Dusit Hotel Nikko. As the first fully owned and managed Dusit Thani asset in the Philippines, the hotel was given a PhP1 billion (US$24.6 million) make-over from its 548 rooms in three wings – EDSA, Ayala Avenue, Pasay Road -- to its six outlets including Basix coffee shop, Japanese (Umu), Thai (Benjarong), Vietnamese (Thien Dong), Italian (Tosca) and Fiesta San Miguel, the only restaurant in the country offering freshly brewed beer.
