Michael Koth wears two hats as IHG’s GM & DOP

Michael Koth has received two appointments within the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which will see him becoming the new general manager of InterContinental Bali Resort. Koth picks up the baton from Michel Chertouh, who was previously regional general manager of Bali Resorts, IHG.

Koth will also take up the role director of operations for AMEA Resorts Malaysia, Indonesia & Thailand, overseeing the group’s Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Resorts and Holiday Inn Express throughout the region.

A German-Swiss national, Koth has had more than three decades of experience within IHG, having worked at many of the group’s properties in London, Regency InterContinental in Bahrain, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Koth has previously served in top roles as director of operations and general manager at IHG hotels in post-war Serbia, along with other appointments in Hamburg, Berlin, Athens during the Summer Olympic Games, Budapest, Doha, and Cairo, where he managed crisis and owner advocacy during the Egyptian Revolution.

In his most recent appointment, Koth was director of operations Levant, based in Amman, Jordan, where he managed 13 hotels of three IHG Brands in two countries, including the expansion of the IHG portfolio in the Levant.
