26 September 2001JAKARTA - The hospitality industry took time out to welcome its newest edition, the JW Marriott Jakarta, which soft opened with 150 rooms today.
Long anticipated in the city's hotel industry, director of marketing Andreas Kohn said the total 333 rooms would be open within two days, including the suites.
"We are optimistic. Jakarta is a strong "wining and dining" market, and we believe our five restaurants will be very busy. For them to be full on opening day is a good sign.
"We are not too pessimistic for next year - we know it's going to be a tough market and we know why, but we still think we will do very well," he said.
