Planted in a trendy corner of Trastevere, a 10- to 15-minute stroll east from Ponte Garibaldi, this hotel, part of VRetreats and their small regional lifestyle chain, has some freshness injected into the place.

Despite the disappearance of Alpitor, groups still stop here, but it certainly isn't a "group stop." Built in 1642, the former Convent of Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori now meets the standards of its peers.
