Conveniently two blocks from Marble Arch underground station, this is a big, bustling commercial beehive that will appeal to groups more than individuals. The 1930s eight-story art-deco structure housed American army officers during the war.

Location, though, is right in the thick of it, especially for shoppers intent on the discount stores along Oxford Street. Hyde Park is only a few steps in the other direction.
