Like Manhattan's Lower East Side before the boom, this hotel is planted in up-and-coming De Pijp, a hip, happening corner of the city with an everchanging roster of trendy cafes, bars, galleries, and one of the most desirable residential zip codes for well-off hipsters. It sits away from the touristy Red Light District and Dam Square, and although first-timers may balk—it's a half-hour trudge from Centraal Station—De Pijp is the current it-girl.
