Airports of Thailand (AoT) is set to launch a mobile application to ease passenger congestion in its airports by the first quarter of 2019, according to a report by Bangkok Post.
Airports are not the easiest places to navigate, especially if you are in a hurry. Thankfully, at least in Thailand, things are about to get much easier for travellers.

Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, president of AoT, was excited to make the announcement during an AoT sister airport seminar. According to him, the planned app will give passengers information about flights, the carousel on which their baggage will be unloaded, as well as the exact time of its arrival. “With this information, they need not have to rush and instead opt to go for a little shopping before their bags arrive at the carousels," Sirismatthakarn said. “Arriving passengers will also get information about which toilets are more congested, to give them the option of choosing another toilet nearby which is less crowded.''
Sirismatthakarn added that the app, currently without an official name, will be rolled out at Suvarnabhumi (in Samut Prakan), Don Mueang and Phuket airports. AoT’s remaining three airports in Chiang Rai, Chiang mai and Hat Yai will be integrated into the app by the second quarter of 2019.
If the app proves to be successful, it may even find footing in AoT’s other sister airports across the world. As it stands, the firm has 16 sister airports in nine countries, including the US, Germany, Belgium, Japan and South Korea, in addition to South East Asian countries.
