New research by hoppa, a global leader in ground transportation services, has revealed the cheapest and most expensive travel destinations in the world for 2018.

Manila was slightly cheaper that Sofia in Bulgaria and Antalya in Turkey, while three Asian cities - Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh and Siem Reap were next best for value for money.
Denpasar ranked as the 9th cheapest city in the world, costing travellers US$112.3 a day, while Jakarta ranked as the 11th cheapest city in the world, costing travellers US$115.2 a day on average.
One hundred cities around the world were included in the research by hoppa, and criteria included the cost of a hotel room for the night, the average price of both restaurant meals and fast food, the costs of beverages such as coffee, beer, wine and cocktails, as well as the price of taxi fares. Flight prices were excluded.
Based on the criteria, a night in New York would set travellers back US$480, while a night in Manila would only cost about US$95.
Four of the most expensive cities in the world are American and three are Spanish, and Asia is home to most of the cheapest cities in the world.
