There was more misery for passengers flying between Australia and Bali on Wednesday when Virgin Australia cancelled 12 flights due to the threat posed by an ash cloud close to Denpasar airport.
A Jetstar flight to Bali was forced to turn back to Melbourne.
In a statement Virgin Australia said it made the decision after advice from its team of meteorologists and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre.
The airline said travellers would be able to change their booking to another date or destination within 30 days, free of charge.
The latest disruption to Bali follows cancellation of numerous flights almost two weeks ago when Denpasar airport was closed due to the volcanic ash cloud spewing from Mount Ruang.
