Tourism Malaysia's new consumer and corporate website, www.malaysia.travel, was launched by Malaysia minister of tourism and culture Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.
A new start to 2016 for Malaysia with a rebranded travel website and a versatile tourism ambassador for the country.
Tourism Malaysia's new consumer and corporate website, www.malaysia.travel, was launched by Malaysia minister of tourism and culture Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.
“I believe this rebranding exercise will help lift Tourism Malaysia's online status to the next level and promote the country's tourism more efficiently and effectively,” the minister said.
The website includes a section for consumers (Holiday to Malaysia) and corporates. Previously there was a separate site for each of these two segments.
Holiday to Malaysia has information on places to visit in Malaysia, a “Top 25 Experiences” and travel packages, complete with description and contacts for bookings.
There is also a Trip Planner for visitors to design their Malaysian holidays where they can also connect with service providers, and a section for “Travel Bookings” for flights, accommodation, cars and buses.
A new feature is the “Malaysia in 360°” allowing virtual tours to different parts of the country by walking, driving or from the air (aerial view).
Mohamed Nazri also announced the appointment of singer Shila Amzah as Malaysia's tourism ambassador, adding that her ability to sing and communicate well in Chinese was the main reason for the choice.
Shila is also a songwriter, actress, and record producer. Based in Hong Kong, she is the only Malay artist with the highest Mandarin single sales in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and the first (Malay artist) to have success in Chinese-speaking countries.
