IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched a Crowne Plaza in Vietnam's Phu
Quoc Island, one of five provinces chosen to welcome back fully
vaccinated foreign travellers from selected countries last month, as
part of the country's three-stage vaccine passport programme.
Located
along Bai Dai beach, the 308-room Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay resort
is a 40-minute drive from the Phu Quoc International Airport, 30 minutes
from downtown.
Designed with a focus on supporting today's digital nomads, the
resort's lobby for instance — termed the 'Plaza Workspace' — offers
various zones to allow guests and locals alike to work, carry out
business meetings, or socialise.
USB
outlets and charging stations are also situated in multiple spots
throughout rooms and public spaces, to allow guests to stay digitally
connected.
The 308 rooms include 11 villas and 21 suites, ranging from 40sqm to
411sqm, and are designed by Zoo Studio, an eco-id architectural firm
based in Saigon. The resort also practices the IHG Green Engage system: a
four-tiered certification set by the Group, which suggests more than
200 'Green Solutions' to help hotels reduce energy, water and waste.

The Amber Sands Beach Club serves up locally sourced seafood and meat.
Amenities include a sheltered Olympic-length 50m lap pool and a
lagoon pool, gym, and the Hoa Sim Spa. For dining, Horizons Restaurant -
Lounge - Bar offers Vietnamese cuisine or international cuisines,
paired with locally brewed craft beers or cocktails.
For something different, head to the Amber Sands Beach Club, which
offers beachfront dining over locally sourced seafood and meat served a
la minute in its open-fire kitchen, with the additional option of a fire
dance performance available.
Families can put little ones at the Tribe Kids Club, which offers
indoor and outdoor adventure play and a range of creative and enriching
activities. Guests can also choose to explore the island's renowned
national park and local fishing villages, or lesser-known attractions
such as Starfish Beach.
Planners can book from the 416sqm of dedicated space, which includes a
grand ballroom and three meeting rooms, allowing for a maximum of 480
guests at once.
IHG Hotels & Resorts now has 14 hotels in Vietnam operating under
four brands: Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday
Inn, with another 15 in the pipeline including brand entries for Hotel
Indigo, voco Hotels and Regent.
