Jason Liberty has been appointed president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, comprising three internationally acclaimed cruise brands — Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises.

He will also play a role in overseeing TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, of which Royal Caribbean Group owns 50% of as part of a joint venture with the cruise operators.

Liberty began his journey at Royal Caribbean Group in 2005, and has worn many hats over the years. Most recently, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer, responsible for finance, strategy, shared service operations, legal and technology.

Prior to joining Royal Caribbean Group, Liberty served as a senior manager with accounting firm KPMG LLP.

Liberty graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School, with an MBA. He now serves on the board of advisors at his former university.

With a track record in academia, he also holds degrees in accounting and finance from the University of Miami School of Business and Indiana University, Bloomington, Kelley School of Business, respectively.

Liberty also sits on the board of directors at WNS Limited, a business process management public company.
