Vietnam low-cost carrier VietJet has announced Moscow as its first
Europe destination. The airline’s non-stop service will connect the
Russian capital with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and the beach resort of
Nha Trang from early July next year.
The airline hopes to begin its Hanoi – Moscow service on July 3, 2022
operating two times weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays. Flights from Ho
Chi Minh City with a transit in Hanoi will start on the same day, with
the same frequency.
The Nha Trang – Moscow route will also operate two times weekly every
Monday and Friday from July 10, 2022. The flight time for each route is
around 10 hours per leg, with an additional two hours for the Ho Chi
Minh City transit flight.
Vietjet Managing Director Dinh Viet Phuong said, “Vietjet is ready
for international routes. We have invested in a modern fleet, and we
will expand our intercontinental flight network in the coming time.”
All these services will be operated from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport with Vietjet’s new and modern A330-300 aircraft.
These developments come in the midst of Vietnam's plans for a phased approach in its reopening.
