British Airways (BA) recently announced quarantine-free Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights on 19 October 2021 from London, Heathrow. In anticipation of increased passenger traffic, additional measures have been implemented at the airport and on board flights to ensure safety and a stress-free flying experience.
Under the VTL scheme, fully vaccinated travellers arriving at Singapore from London do not have to be quarantined if they have tested negative for Covid-19. Long- and short-term pass holders must apply for a Singapore Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) 7 days to 30 days before travel. Singaporeans do not need to apply for VTP.
BA’s safety protocols include social distancing guidelines, wearing of face masks, hand sanitiser stations and sanitisation of all key high-touch surfaces in the cabin after each flight. The air on all BA flights is fully recycled once every two to three minutes through HEPA filters, which remove microscopic bacteria and virus clusters with over 99.9% efficiency, equivalent to hospital operating theatre standards.
Prior to travel, passengers will receive information on flight preparations, and checks on changing entry requirements may be verified on the airline’s VeriFLY app, which allows passengers to combine their travel verification documents and Covid-19 test results in one place and to easily confirm their eligibility.
Travellers may check with BA’s online Covid hub for information on flexible bookings, testing procedures, utilisation of vouchers and what to expect from their flying experience.
