Flight Centre has been crunching the numbers in a review of its travel bookings in Australia in 2022 and while some familiar favourite destinations have shown up (hello again, Bali), there were a few surprises.

The top international destination by flights booked was London, followed by Bali and Singapore.

Bali accounted for 5.21% of Flight Centre’s international flight bookings in 2022. Singapore, with 3.98% of bookings, squeezed into third place on the back of its popularity as a stopover destination for Australians flying to UK and Europe.

Singapore Airlines was also one of Flight Centre’s most popular international airlines for 2022.  

Among destinations in Asia, Australians booked heaps of seats to Manila (8th overall), Bangkok (10th) and Phuket (11th).

Flight Centre’s most expensive cruise booking in 2022 cost a whopping A$333,400 (US$225,600).

The most expensive international hotel booking Flight Centre made in 2022 cost someone A$149,100, while the longest hotel booking this year was for a duration of 1,092 days.
