Meet Sama, the world’s first MetaHuman airline cabin crew created to
guide travellers around the virtual reality realm of Qverse — Qatar
Airways’ version of the Metaverse.
Sama’s name originates from Arabic and translates to ‘sky’. She is a
digitally-created high-fidelity 3D human model developed by Epic Games’
Unreal Engine, which also created the rest of Qverse.
Internet users accessing Qatar’s website will be able to get
acquainted with Sama, who will take them on a virtual tour of Qatar
Airways’ Premium Check-in area at Hamad International Airport and cabin
interior of the airline’s aircraft.
In Qverse, travellers can explore what it's like to sit in Qsuite or economy class.
On board the virtual craft, travellers can take in a 360-degree view
of the cabin, including the various seat selections from business class
to economy, and the amenities offered. Throughout this experience, Sama
would narrate through the unique features that each traveller clicks on.
