Trip.com Group’s will host its first English-language livestream sales session in Singapore as part of its recently launched Travel On campaign to work with industry partners to reignite travel demand.
James Liang, co-founder and chairman of Trip.com Group, said the livestreams offer an "interactive and highly localised way" for the OTA to present value offers to its customers from the comfort of their homes.
"Through these sessions, we hope to inject a sense of confidence and positivity and encourage everyone to travel on together, even as we navigate the new normal,” he said in a press statement.
As retail streaming become a popular e-commerce channel in China in recent years, Liang has frequently appeared in Trip.com's in-destination livestreams across the country to promote travel packages. In Southeast Asia, the group in early July rolled out its first livestream in Thailand.
The Singapore livestream sales session, which will take place on July 21, 20.30 local time on Facebook and YouTube, will be hosted by Mediacorp artiste Vanessa Ho with special appearance by Desmond Tan.
According to Trip.com, the upcoming hour-long livestream will feature attractive promotions from top hotels in Singapore and select hotels overseas – with discounts of up to 60 percent. Viewers will be able to participate in a series of games and stand a chance to win prizes including hotel room vouchers during the livestream.
The participating hotels in Singapore’s inaugural livestream include Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, Parkroyal Collection Pickering, Singapore, Village Hotel at Sentosa by Far East Hospitality Singapore, The Outpost Hotel by Far East Hospitality Singapore, and M Social Singapore.
