Northstar Travel Group has entered into an agreement to acquire the London-based Travel & Meetings portfolio from Centaur Media, PLC. The transaction is expected to close by the end of April.
The Travel & Meetings portfolio includes the leading exhibitions serving the corporate travel market, the meetings market and travel technology.
“There is an obvious strategic fit with Northstar’s leading brands serving these same markets,” said Tom Kemp, chairman and CEO of Northstar Travel Group.
“We will be able to leverage Northstar’s content, databases, audience and client relationships, and product portfolio to grow and expand the T&M portfolio of events.”
The portfolio includes the following brands:
The Business Travel Show: Europe’s largest corporate travel event with more than 9,000 attendees including 220 exhibiting companies and 500 hosted corporate travel buyers produced for 25 years in London.
The Business Travel Show will take place February 26-27 2020 at Olympia London.
The Meetings Show: The UK’s leading inbound and outbound event for global meeting planners bringing corporate and association events to the UK, or UK -based corporate and association planners looking to take events to Europe and globally. The event brings together approximately 5,000 attendees including 640 exhibitors and approximately 1,000 hosted meeting buyers with 10,000 appointments.
This year’s event takes place June 26-27 at Olympia, London.
Travel Technology Europe: For 17 years, Travel Technology Europe has been bringing together buyers of technology solutions for the travel industry with innovative companies selling software and services to the travel industry. Approximately 6,500 attendees including 300 VIP travel technology buyers participate in Travel Technology Europe each year.

Northstar Travel Group said the acquisition would “further our strategic goals of expanding our event portfolio with large scale events serving the travel and meetings industry. The Business Travel Show and The Meetings Show will be two of our top five largest events”.
The acquisition also will provide Northstar Travel Group with geographic expansion into the UK and European travel markets with a new base of operations in London.
The approximately 25 staff from the T&M team will be joining Northstar in a new office and operation in London.
“This will provide us with the infrastructure to expand opportunistically with our existing brands and services into these new markets for Northstar,” said Kemp.
The Business Travel Show will report through the BTN Group; The Meetings Show will report through the Meetings Group and TTE will report through Phocuswright.
“This transaction will be another important step in the growth and transformation of Northstar,” Kemp added.
