Hot, energetic, engaging. These was as much the sentiments of the conference floor as the daily networking sessions at the much-anticipated Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) and the Alternative Ownership Conference Asia Pacific (AOCAP).
HICAP, which takes place alongside the Alternative Ownership Conference Asia Pacific (AOCAP), is currently taking place at Fairmont Singapore and Swissotel The Stamford from 19 to 21 October 2022. The hotel conferences have relocated to Singapore, after years of being held in Hong Kong.
Having undergone tremendous changes over the past two years, Asia's hotel investment community was clearly eager to meet and connect again at HICAP and AOCAP - the first time both events are taking place in person after virtual editions in 2020 and 2021.
Speaking during the plenary and opening reception for both events, Jeff Higley, president, The BHN Group, said "I know this is a homecoming week for a lot of you, and you get a chance to see a lot of old friends and make new friends."

The tremendous challenges over the past two years also brought about many exciting developments in hospitality investment, technology, hotel services, and changes in operation agreements, among others.
During the three-day event, the conference floor was abuzz with discussion, covering hot topics ranging from ESG investing and distressed assets to branded residence and mixed-use projects.
For more than 30 years, HICAP has been the unequaled annual gathering place for Asia-Pacific’s hotel investment community, attracting the most influential owners, developers, lenders, executives, and professional advisors from around the globe.
AOCAP is Asia Pacific’s only conference focused on resort development and recreational real estate.
Both events are organised by Northstar Travel Group and The BHN Group.
